Two distinct takes on the deckbuilding RPG are now available together, as Crown Gambit and Gordian Quest have been combined into a new Steam bundle.
The package includes the complete versions of both games alongside an additional 10% bundle discount. Thanks to separate promotions currently running for each title, players can temporarily save up to 56% on the collection, although the final price and displayed percentage may vary by region.
Both games build their turn-based combat around cards, party composition, and character-specific abilities, but they approach those ideas from noticeably different directions.
Two Different Approaches to Card-Based Combat
Developed by WILD WITS GAMES, Crown Gambit is a narrative-driven tactical RPG set during a bitter war of succession. Players control three inexperienced paladins, Aliza, Hael, and Rollo, as competing noble families struggle to determine who will inherit the throne of Meodred.
Political decisions are just as important as battlefield victories. Players must choose which claimants and factions to support, with their alliances influencing the story’s course and potentially leading to different conclusions. Each paladin also has a personal deck that can be developed to establish a distinct combat role within the group.
Battles are fought through tactical card encounters, with each hero bringing unique abilities to the field. Players can also call upon the dangerous power of Ancestral Grace, gaining access to stronger attacks at the risk of exposing the characters to its corrupting influence. Crown Gambit originally launched for PC on June 18, 2025.
Gordian Quest, meanwhile, offers a larger and more systems-focused adventure inspired by classic tabletop RPGs and traditional fantasy role-playing games. Players recruit a party of three heroes, construct their decks, collect equipment, and combine abilities while attempting to lift a curse spreading across the land of Wrendia.
Its main campaign spans four acts, but the game also includes several alternative modes. Realm Mode introduces a more unpredictable roguelite structure, while Adventure Mode provides procedurally generated endgame content. A separate Skirmish Mode allows two players to test parties against one another in online battles.
There are ten playable heroes representing different classes and combat styles, supported by hundreds of active and passive skills. Randomized maps, equipment, character development, difficulty settings, and optional permadeath provide additional room for repeat playthroughs. Gordian Quest received its full PC release on June 23, 2022.
Despite their shared reliance on cards, the two games should appeal to slightly different audiences. Crown Gambit places greater emphasis on political intrigue, consequential choices, and a tightly defined trio of protagonists. Gordian Quest leans further into party customization, loot, class combinations, procedural content, and long-term replayability.
The Gordian Quest + Crown Gambit Bundle is available now through Steam. At the time of writing, both titles are also individually discounted, contributing to the bundle’s advertised saving of up to 56%.
Steam currently lists the separate Gordian Quest promotion as ending on August 15 and the Crown Gambit offer as ending on August 16, so the combined introductory price is likely available for a limited time.
